In Loving memory of Jack Eugene Vickers

07/16/1929 – 09/22/2017

Jack Vickers passed away at his home in Davison, MI, at the age of 88 on Friday, September 22, 2017. He was born in Aurora, IL, on July 16, 1929, to the late Norman and Ruby (Hagy) Vickers. He is survived and missed by his son, Robert Gee, and his four grandchildren: Tracy Gerred, Debbie DeFord-Minerva, Cyndy Deford, and Jennifer (Gee) Hobson, as well as a grandson-in-law, Martin Minerva, and five great-grandchildren: Cody Gerred, Megan Hobson, Allison Hobson, Julian Minerva, and Luke Minerva. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mabel June Vickers, whom he married in 1965. She passed away on September 18, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his loving daughter, Janet (Gee) Deford. We loved him dearly and hope he’s back at June’s side, playing cards and drinking beer. His off-color jokes from his time serving in the Navy during the Korean War and his sneaked smokes in the basement and garage were just a part of this caring man’s character. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and the Eagles in Englewood, FL, where he spent his winters. There was no service, according to his wishes. Rest well, Grandpa Jack. Thank you for everything. XOX
